At the Scientific Two-Day Conference “Digital Governance of Educational Units,” held on April 29–30, 2026 at the Conference Center of the University of Patras, and jointly organized by the University of Patras and the University of Nicosia, critical dimensions of the digital transformation of education were highlighted. These included the administration of school units, the utilization of Artificial Intelligence, educational leadership, the ethics of digital governance, data management, and the protection of personal data.
The presentations on the second day ranged from pedagogical innovation and the use of AI in administration to quality assurance and ethical considerations, leading organically to the final interactive discussion titled “Data in Education: Opportunities, Ethical Dilemmas, and Personal Data Protection.”
In this discussion, a member of the Project Team of the Innovation Centers of ITYE–Diophantus conveyed the perspective of an institution situated at the intersection of educational practice, technological innovation, and the responsible use of digital tools. It was emphasized that the role of ITYE–Diophantus is particularly significant, as it can support a unified framework of policies, procedures, and technical safeguards across all its services. The participation of the Innovation Centers underscored that digital governance cannot be confined to systems, platforms, and processes alone; rather, it must be linked to pedagogical design, teacher training, the cultivation of digital culture, and a clear ethical framework.
