A conference entitled “Innovation Centres: Review, Outcomes and Future Prospects” will take place on Saturday, 9 May 2026, at the Galateia Saranti Hall of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, with the participation of the political leadership, members of the academic and scientific community, and education executives from across the country.

The event marks the culmination of the implementation of the initiative for the development of Innovation Centres across the 13 Regional Directorates of Education and aims to highlight its outcomes, the experience gained, as well as the future prospects for the evolution of the institution.

The Innovation Centers represent a new and dynamic model for contemporary education, placing students and the learning experience at its core. Through multidisciplinary learning environments and the use of cutting-edge technologies, the Centers foster conditions of active participation, collaboration, and creativity, shifting the educational process from passive knowledge consumption to experiential engagement. At the same time, they operate as a unified network that develops and disseminates modern pedagogical practices, strengthens collaboration among schools and educators, and contributes to the creation of a broader innovation ecosystem in education.

During the conference, the design and implementation of the initiative will be presented, while members of the scientific committee will highlight the role of cutting-edge technologies and contemporary pedagogical approaches in shaping new learning experiences. Two panel discussions will follow: the first, featuring members of the project team, will focus on the pedagogical, organizational, and operational dimensions of the implementation; the second, featuring Regional Directors of Education, will address the sustainability and future development of the institution.

The conference aims to serve as a starting point for defining the role of Innovation Centers within the educational system and for developing a coherent framework that will ensure the continuation and expansion of the initiative.
