As part of the publicity activities of the Innovation Centres' work, an invited speech was given by Mr. I. Kostikas, member of the Project Team, at the 1st Vocational Education and Training Conference hosted in Syros, on 30-31 March 2025, on the topic: "Innovation & Technology in Vocational Education: The Skills of Tomorrow".
The presentation highlighted the contribution of Innovation Centres in cultivating digital and technological skills for students and teachers in Primary and Secondary Education, with a focus on interdisciplinary learning and strengthening local innovation ecosystems. Particular reference was made to the role of the South Aegean local community, as well as to the importance of the partnership between educational structures, universities, local authorities and vocational education, with the aim of creating a resilient and extroverted educational model for the future.
Participation in the conference was an important opportunity to inform and connect with the VET community, and offered the opportunity to present the design, mission and prospects of Innovation Centres as cutting-edge educational structures, preparing students and teachers for the challenges of tomorrow's society and economy.
Syros, as an important educational and cultural centre of the Aegean, was an ideal location for the organisation of a conference focusing on the "skills of tomorrow", offering a living example of local activation and educational innovation.
