At the Scientific Symposium "Ilia Welcomes Knowledge and Science", the presentation "Innovation Centers: 10+1 Technologies of the Future!" was delivered by Mr. I. Kostikas, a member of the Innovation Centers Project Team. The lecture aimed to inform students and educators about emerging technologies shaping the future of education and society. The audience had the opportunity to explore key technological advancements expected to transform the world in the coming decades.

The discussion focused on how innovation impacts education, future skills, and youth preparedness for a rapidly evolving world. The importance of Innovation Centers, a new educational structure bridging schools, science, and technology, was highlighted. These centers aspire to connect students with cutting-edge technologies, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Through interactive dialogue and real-world examples, participants reflected on both opportunities and challenges in technology-driven education. The strong audience engagement reaffirmed the need for an educational transformation where technology serves as a tool for learning and growth. The Symposium was co-organized by the Secondary Education Directorate of Ilia, the Hellenic Physicists' Association, and the 1st Gymnasium of Pyrgos, held in Pyrgos, Ilia, on February 12-13, 2025.


 


 

The Innovation Center based in Syros was the focal point of the Innovation and Sustainable Urban Development Workshop held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Conference Hall of the Cyclades Chamber of Commerce in Ermoupoli. The event was organized on the initiative of the newly established Innovation, Technology & Energy Committee of the Municipality of Syros – Ermoupolis.

 

During the presentation by Mr. I. Kostikas, a member of the Innovation Centers Project Team, and Mr. I. Papadomarkakis, Regional Director of Education, the potential of the center to become a dynamic hub for technology and creativity was highlighted. They also discussed how it could enhance entrepreneurship and digital transformation at the local level.

 

The Innovation Centers initiative aims to create a vibrant ecosystem that fosters practical solutions and supports the transition to a smarter and more sustainable development model.

The discussion emphasized the crucial role of innovation in sustainable urban development and the importance of collaboration between universities, businesses, and local authorities. Special attention was given to technological solutions in areas such as smart resource management, sustainable mobility, and service digitization.
