The 1st Scientific Conference on "Apprenticeship, Innovation & Leadership | Creating flexible models of vocational education", organized by the Regional Directorate of Education of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and with the support of the NSRF Executive Structure of the Ministry of Education, was successfully completed on 23-25 May, at the auditorium of the Music High School of Komotini.
The aim of the conference was to provide a meeting place for teachers, representatives of social partners, employers, experts, researchers and educational policy makers to present scientific papers, exchange knowledge and best practices, and enhance the visibility of vocational education and its link to the labour market at national and European level.
As part of the publicity actions of the Innovation Centres' work, a speech was given by Mr. Ioannis Kostikas, member of the Project Team, on the topic: "Innovation Centres in Education: flexible learning and creation environments". The presentation highlighted ways in which Innovation Centres can enhance vocational education and focused on the technologies that shape modern vocational education and their connection with the needs of the local society of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace.
The opening of the conference was jointly declared by the Deputy Regional Director of Education of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace, Dr. Marigula Kosmidou, and the General Secretary of Vocational Education, Training & Lifelong Learning of the Ministry of Education, Olga Kafetzopoulou.
